The marble of Peccia
The Maggia valley may be renowned for its “abundance of rock”, but few are aware of the existence of a considerable marble deposit in the upper Maggia valley, called Lavizzara, where marble has been quarried and manufactured by Cristallina SA. since 1946. This is a high-quality marble with an outstanding weather-resistance. It has the same origin as the marbles of Carrara, Greece and Turkey.
