An innovative project in a valley of southern Switzerland
- Ticino creates a new cultural centre
- Marble as source of innovation
- Link between Peccia and the world
The International Centre for Sculpture will create a place where sculptors from all over the world can meet, work together and engage in dialogue with each other. Each year seven studios will be available for artists who work with three-dimensional materials. They will also have the use of a spacious work site complete with the latest equipment and tools for working with stone, wood, metal etc. The studios will be advertised nationally and internationally each year. Grants will then be offered to the seven successful applicants. Priority will be given to sculptors who use up-todate working methods and materials. The yearly grant for these sculptors covers the period from April to October. Apart from the studios and the work site the Centro includes a spacious building that can be used for exhibitions, conferences, seminars and other activities.
