The socio-cultural relevance

• The Canton of Ticino and Switzerland as a whole are in a position to trigger a cultural initiative of international significance.
• The new profile for the region that has been developed by ‘Vallemaggia pietraviva’ gains added importance due to the international orientation
of the Centro.
• When completed the Centro will be a focal point for the art of sculpture, a forum for the contemporary study of one of mankind’s most ancient forms of art.
• The meeting of artists from different countries will enrich the cultural exchange so that the Centro becomes a modern place for sculpture
and a place of inspiration for young artists.
• Here will be an ongoing sculptor-symposium of high quality, a genuine attraction for the Ticino’s cultural tourism. In the adjoining gallery works by well known sculptors will be exhibited. Each year the sculptures will be replaced with works by other artists.
• The Centro will be used for conferences that have varying focal points. Because of its artistic ambience sponsors and organisations will wish to
use it for business events and training courses.
• The multinational cultural exchange will bring about an atmosphere of cosmopolitanism in the valley. The Centro will have a energising effect
on the whole region and thus strengthen its self-confidence and prepare the way for other innovative projects.
