Tea&cake from 15h30, conversation at 16h15
On the occasion of the finissage of “Forme di Solastalgia. Eline Kersten. Installazioni”, currently on view at the Centro Internazionale di Scultura, the artist will be in conversation with Andrea Pedrazzini, a geologist and the head of the Cantonal Forestry Section, responsible for managing natural hazards and protecting Ticino's forests. The talk will be moderated by the exhibition's curator, Gianna A. Mina.
It will explore the relationship between science and creative expression, focusing on Kersten's methodology, which draws on dialogue with specialists in land, climate and emergency response. It will also consider how we read the landscape and its defining features as an archive built over millennia, one we need to understand and respect, especially in a time of extreme climate change.
"Forme di Solastalgia, Eline Kersten. Installazioni" is open until 31 October, Thursday to Saturday, 14.30–18.30.
